Last month I shared with you a failed attempt to launch The Moravian Falls House of Prayer. The slice of history ended with the last member of the board living on Prayer Mountain, but all other members leaving.
That remaining member – me – had been praying for a house of prayer for thirty-eight years. Not that I myself would build it but that I might hold up the hands of those who would build it. I had secured the name officially on behalf of the builders, however, when the land changed hands I withdrew from that ownership. I informed the new owners of the need to secure the name, for now, it was open to any and all takers.
But on March 26, 2026, I received a call from those representing the government saying that the new board had abandoned the name The Moravian Falls House of Prayer and that the name had reverted to me. The new board had renamed the structure they were building – The Chapel.
Immediately, I was concerned. Bob Jones had told me of another “dropping of the name” situation and its consequences. He said that Mike Bickle dropped the church in order to focus on the ministry of 24 hour prayer – thereby dropping the name. When he did, the organization began to whither. Mike must have asked Bob “Why?” Bob said that the prophetic words and all the promises were for the church not 24 hour prayer. When he removed that to which the promises were given, the promises went with it. Mike restored the church.
I felt that we were walking into a similar situation by removing the name The Moravian Falls House of Prayer. All the angels that had assembled and the land that had been waiting to receive the promises and help to bring them into reality would not fulfill their purpose.
Strangely – the day before I had asked the Lord if He had anything for me with the house of prayer. Even though it had been 38 years, I didn’t “want to seem pushy”, I told Him. I just needed an answer. “Thirty-eight years is a long time”, I added.
But when the lawyer called, I refused his news. I told him that I was not building The Chapel and therefore could not possibly have the name The Moravian Falls House of Prayer. He said – at that time – that the name had been abandoned and here was the official number with the government. He said: “Whether you like it or not, you are The Moravian Falls House of Prayer.”
It took me a good deal of time to realize that He had answered my prayer. I do not like to assume what God will do. But He does have laws and He is very serious about names.
It dawned on me that He wanted both. He wanted The Moravian Falls House of Prayer and a chapel. That had never occurred to me.
The chapel will have its own promises and prophesies and The Moravian Falls House of Prayer will have its.
I want our geographic area to be able to see those prophetic words come to maturity. I want our mountain, our county, our state, our nation and our world to see God’s glory and be blessed.
