Our Book of Remembrance – Part 1

Malachi 3:16-18

16 “Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, and the Lord listened attentively and heard it, and a Book of Remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the Lord and esteem His name.
17 ‘They will be Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts, ‘on the day that I prepare My own possession, and I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.’
18 So you will again distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God, and one who does not serve Him.”

The Book of Remembrance in Malachi is to remind God of the righteousness of those who feared His name. For The Moravian Falls House of Prayer, the Lord has assigned a Scribe Angel to Prayer Mountain to record His history – both His deeds and His faithfulness.

This book is for His children to read and be glad. This Book of Remembrance is to remind us.

July 12th, 2006 – Wednesday

When we arrived at the gazebo, an angel appeared to my left side across the path. He was seated on a high stool before a high slanted desk (the type seen in Dicken’s times). At the top to the right side of the desk, was a hole that held an ink well. Beneath the writing surface a book rested on a shelf. He was writing on a sheet of paper – probably a page that would be inserted into the book. He wrote with a white feather quill. I could not see the ink because it was beneath my view. However, when he dipped the quill into the inkwell, the ink shone as he moved it to the page to write.

His garment was a deep blue with symbols woven deep within the fabric. He had flaming red hair braided at the back, hanging down to his waist (to keep it out of his work, I suppose).

Since he was seated sideways to those of us in the gazebo, the angel turned his head slightly to address me. “You have asked that a book of the Holy One’s deeds and promises be written concerning this ridge. He has answered your request.” He indicated the book beneath the writing surface. “I have much to do to record for you the happenings since the beginning of time until now.”

“Goodness,” I said. “I didn’t mean to record from the beginning of time. I meant now – during this time.”

“The Holy One has a history here before you came and will continue to have a history. You who have come at this propitious time are now woven into the fabric of His purposes and of His promises. His history is forever, but in order that you may recall your portion of His mighty history, (I felt that He meant concerning this ridge), He has authorized a Book of Remembrance to be written. You have requested this record so that you may bring the Holy One into remembrance of all He has promised to accomplish here.” He is granting you your request.”

He continued: “I am a SCRIBE, I am sent to record for you this history – as you have said – lest you forget.”
