The Seal

The Seal

Why place a seal on the believer’s heart? The Song of
Solomon tells us of this in Song of Solomon 8:6-7

“Put me like a seal over your heart,
Like a seal on your arm.
For love is as strong as death,
Jealousy is as severe as Sheol.
Its flashes are flashes of fire,
the very flame of the Lord.
Many waters cannot quench love,
Nor will rivers overflow it.

If a man were to give all the riches of his house for love,

It would be utterly despised.”

The seal is an ancient confirmation of an inward pledge.
This particular seal is visible to God alone. It shows that
this heart is locked away for Him only – for only He sees
it.
The fact that this sealing was made on Prayer Mountain
is much like a lover taking his sweetheart to his favorite
spot to give this symbol of His undying love.

July 31,2006

When we went to the top today, the Lord was waiting for
us. He was standing by the gazebo. I had one of those
“uh-oh” of feelings (kind of like the feeling you might
have if you thought your mother had found out that you
had smoked a cigarette behind the barn.) He gestured for
us to sit down. I was looking at him. He spoke:

“Put Me-like a seal over
your heart.”

Even though He was standing outside the gazebo, His
hand reach toward me and touched my heart–where a
seal instantly appeared. Then he disappeared.

Then the Father spoke: “Those I have called to stand in
the gap for My glory must needs live with this seal in
place daily. Not only must they love Me with all their
heart, mind, soul, and strength; but they must remember
to love others as themselves. That seal (the one over the
heart) is to shut out all darkness.”

These (those who are called) are to show forth the
character of My Son. When others see Him they are
looking upon the face of God without dying. Instead,
such that look are partakers of life.”
