There is a new structure on the land of Prayer Mountain and it is a storage barn.  Why would a ministry that majors in prayer and Christian writings need so much storage?

For camels.

What?  Camels!

Let me explain. Each year we mount a manger scene to honor our Lord.  We show Mary and Joseph and the baby Jesus – but also a cow, horse, donkey, chickens, an angel – etc.

This year we are adding three wisemen and an old shepherd with a couple of sheep.  But beside these, we are adding one more camel.  We now have two camels.  But our latest camel is sitting down, and therefore, is nine feet long.  (As of this writing, we only have two camels. One wiseman will need to walk to see baby Jesus.)

We have spent years acquiring theses life-size animals to give a sort of “Peaceable Kingdom” quality to the manger scene.

When I was growing up in Texas, a florist in town displayed a manger scene each Christmas.  Both children and adults loved it.  They only had Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus, but all of us looked forward to seeing it each year.  I want to give that joy to the children (and adults) and we want to honor our Lord.  That, perhaps is the main reason:
