A Double Mantle From The Father

MANTLES # 3 AND # 4

As with the mantle of the Holy Spirit written about last month, these mantles were bestowed above. These were given to me to wear by my Heavenly Father. However, the Holy Spirit had moved upon me to request one of the mantles (not knowing “it” was a “them”).

It was February 4th 1995, my spiritual father’s (Bob Jones) 65th birthday. My husband and I were going to his birthday party later that evening. But that morning I heard that George Abbot (known as “Mr. Broadway”) had died on February 1st 1995. He was 107 years old – having been born in 1888. I was struck by the 888 because 888 is the spiritual number of Jesus (according to the Christian scholar Bullinger in “Number in Scripture”).

I had remembered the stories from the prophets and teachers about how the new music that was meant for the church – when that wonderful move of the Spirit birthed what was known as the Charismatic Movement – instead went to the Beatles. It was in some way, captured and fed into the secular market – a great loss to Christ and to His church.

I believed that this man, George Abbot, had a mantle. An Abbot is the superior of an Abbey. The word comes from Abba, in Aramaic, the meaning for Father. I felt that, if he had a mantle and if it could be taken into the body of Christ, I was willing to receive it. Such an anointing should bring honor to our Father’s Kingdom and to His Son, Jesus Christ.

George Abbot was known in New York as “Mr. Broadway” . . . (a name that needed to be changed to “Narrow way”). He wrote, directed or produced more than 120 Broadway shows, among them, Tony winners – with one score receiving a Pulitzer.

People said of him that, “He dressed like a banker and worked like a dog.” He actually show doctored a musical at the age of 106 – to standing ovations.

I believed that such a mantle had been in the secular world a very long time . . . (at least eighty years) and I wasn’t sure that anyone in the body of Christ would ask the Lord to return it to his people.

[The following is from my journal of 1995, twenty-three years ago:]

February 4th, 1995 – (Bob Jone’s 65th birthday – Albert and I living in Florida.)

VISION:

I was before my Heavenly Father. I asked Him if I might receive George Abbot’s mantle? . . . that is, if it was meant for me . . . (seeing that he was born in 1888 – the numbers 888 = Jesus).

I felt that this anointing would bring much honor to His Kingdom instead of being lost to “the world” and “the flesh”.

My Father asked: “Will you receive it?”

“Yes,” I said, “if You want that anointing to come into Your Kingdom, I will receive it.”

“I do,” He replied. Then He lifted His voice, “Bring forth My mantle.”

There was a buzz among the redeemed on the Sea of Glass and also from the great number of angels assembled. Angels, gold in body, hair and clothes brought forward a beautiful long-sleeved cloak. It shone brilliantly with bands of multifaceted gems that caught the light with every movement. I had never seen such a glorious garment – it was truly fit for a King.

[The pictures are right from my journal of 1995.]

As the angels drew near, the jewels began to change. That puzzled me, for the jewels became moving neon lights, rolling in a never-ending display of hot primary colors – like the marquees in Times Square, New York – where “Mr. Broadway” mounted his musicals.

But even before the angels reached my side I was grateful that my Father gave me greater understanding. He was being merciful. The mantle was indeed His and, in His possession, it shone in its original state: jewel encrusted. However, He gave me to understand that because I was still “flesh and blood”, my body could not survive the shock of wearing His mantle immediately. He had to “step it down” to be as it was on “Mr. Broadway” until I matured enough to be able to withstand the increased power.

My Father spoke: “As you complete the stages of your training, the moving lights will become jewels from My own crown. Only when you have completed the last test will the mantle properly represent Me. But you are never to use My glory to create your own.”
