God’s Announcements

The Bible says that His ways are not our ways. That is true especially when God announces major changes that will affect our lives . . . such as calling out from a burning bush, or a huge hand writing on a wall at a banquet. His ways are utterly mysterious.

Therefore, understanding His announcement language may take minutes, days or even years to decipher.

RECENTLY

This last month, one such understanding came to me. While looking through a 2006 journal, the Lord brought to my attention a momentous, but stealth beginning to one of His major calls upon Moravian Falls. He announced the beginning openly – even audibly – but I did not decipher the meaning of the announcement until last month – exactly 13 years later. The life changing revelation was discovered very much like a revelation stumbled upon by King Ahasuerus in the book of Esther.

KING AHASUERUS

Remember, King Ahasuerus could not sleep one night and therefore called for the book of records to be read before him. (He probably thought that the records were so dull that they would put him right to sleep). Of course, we know that this was arranged by God, for during the reading, King Ahasuerus heard of Mordecai’s service to him. Therefore, the King wished to reward Mordecai (just in the nick of time to begin the downfall of Haman, the official who was plotting to eliminate the Jews).

GOD IS THE SAME TODAY

Therefore, while looking through an early journal over the 4th of July weekend, I stumbled upon the answer to a prophetic announcement that has, indeed, been life changing to all of us living on Prayer Mountain. Since I, like King Ahasuerus do not sit up at night reading the early records of Prayer Mountain, (except when seeking to find an account of an angelic activity that might be instructive to you), this discovery, I am sure, was arranged by God.

I saw in my journal an angelic activity which occurred on July 2, 2006 [13 years ago to the month] but I did not understand its meaning. But now, unlike then, we could look one page beyond to July 3, 2006 and see the answer, “plain as day”.

Let’s look at the prophetic announcement first and then we will look at its meaning.

VISION:

July 2, 2006 – (a Sunday)

When Albert and I arrived on top of the ridge of Prayer Mountain, I heard the Lord say clearly: “Now it begins.”

I stopped in my tracks and responded out loud, “What Lord?” (meaning, “What begins, Lord?”) but He did not answer.

Suddenly, an angel came down and stood on the path to the top of the ridge. He held up directional lights (called wands in the trade) and began to signal toward himself, as if helping to direct an airplane that had landed and now was taxiing before coming to rest.

Both wands were moving straight back, I suppose to assure the pilot that the plane, or whatever it was, was headed in the right direction.

The angel wore earphones, safety glasses, a whistle, a small radio (it looked like), and a bright fluorescent vest.

PARK HERE

Then the angel crisply placed the brightly lit “wands” in a hand signal that indicated to slow down and then stop. I thought at first that he was pointing to us but, because of the signs and his careful placement, I realize, now, that he was indicating the arrival of a promise from our Heavenly Father. However, at that time, I had no idea what he meant.

But whatever was “beginning”, it was important enough to our Lord to be heralded by God and backed by a prophetic arrival shown by an angel. I did not see it (it was invisible) but it was being parked on the top of Prayer Mountain. The angel was showing us God’s desired location for “something”.

Then he disappeared.

“What does this mean, Lord?” I asked.

But He gave me no answer.

THIRTEEN YEARS LATER

Thirteen years later, I was looking through the 2006 journal to find an angel to show on this months’ website. I wondered if anything could help me to understand this prophetic illustration that was given on the 2nd of July, 2006.

My word, there it was on the next day’s journal entry; July 3, 2006. But it was not a prophecy, nor a vision. The next page in the journal chronicled actions that were taken as (we believed) to be Godly steps to insure unity with the four founding families for the building of a chapel on top of Prayer Mountain.

Each family was visited and asked if they would support (with their consent), the building of a chapel on the top of Prayer Mountain. Each family was told that (though they would not be paying to build it) their approval was so necessary that if any one of these families disapproved in any way – even one person – that the chapel project would stop and be laid down. But once started, since a great amount of funding would be committed to it, it would be difficult to allocate a great deal of finances to the acquisition of land, to then find that one of these family units did not in actuality support the building of a chapel on top of Prayer Mountain.

To us, the unity of the brethren was of utmost importance. How could you have a chapel that God Himself called for through the mouth of Bob Jones and many other prophets, if there was anger and the standing against God’s desires among those first families that purchased the land in order to serve Him?

All four families were asked if they could support the building of such a chapel dedicated to our Heavenly Father and each family unit heartily agreed. They all pledged their support of the chapel.

We took these families at their word and began.

NOW IT BEGINS

It was as the Father had said the day before: “Now it begins!”

What did begin? It was the beginning of our Heavenly Father working in the hearts and lives of those who He called to build the chapel and even those who pledged their support.

Our Father wants us to move in holiness and righteousness. He wants those who will build the chapel to show forth the character of Christ. This last move of the Spirit trained us (all over the world) in His gifts and power. But, believe me, His next great move of the Spirit will use those who move and live and have their being in holiness.

None of us wants the corruption that has been excused in the body of Christ because the person was gifted.

We want Him to lay down the ground work, Him to bring it about, and Him to be present with us when it is completed. We want Him; and we want Him to bring it about purely Himself, not the flesh of mankind. The Word says that He builds His church. Oh Lord, let us be the generation that sees that pure work. Let us see it on Prayer Mountain.
