RECENT VISION
An angel stood before me. His clothing ran multiple pictures.
“Who are you?” I asked the angel.
“I am Expectation,” he said.
“Your robe,” I said, “is running pictures…”
“Yes,” he said, “I noticed that, also.” He looked down at his garment. “Huh!” he said as he looked from one running picture to another. He seemed as surprised as I was.
“Well,” I continued after a while, “could you help me to understand why?”
“It seems that you are not quite sure about what you want and therefore are unable to pray with clarity of purpose,” He said.
He was still viewing the multiple pictures. Then he looked at me: “You lack focus.”
“Well,” I said, “when it comes to seeking something other than Christ, I am keeping my options open.”
“Yes,” he said with a wry smile. “Which means you are taking the l-o-n-g way to receiving.”
I exhaled a short breath, (like I had been hit in the chest) then sucked in a sharp intake of breath: “Oh dear,” I said involuntarily.
My reaction knocked every picture off of his garment.
“Now,” he chuckled, “just a few adjustments are needed.” He fixed his eyes on me: “You already love the Lord and seek His company, but He also needs you to take charge of your thoughts and make focused requests and not just throw a ‘grab bag’ of the ‘I wants’ and ‘the gimmes’ at Him.”
I remembered hearing the plans for prayer of a very great intercessor. He kept a record of each request that he made to the Lord. He dated the initial request and prayed each prayer daily and then dated the answer to each request when it was fulfilled.
He continued: “You need to hold steady when stating your needs and adjust them if further clarifications make themselves known.”
“That sounds like a business transaction,” I said.
The angel laughed: “Well, you are representing the family interests on earth.”
I looked a little lost in it.
Therefore, the angel Expectation sought to clarify.
“Anna,” he said, “if you were working for a human company on earth and that company sent you to a location to, not only represent them, but to accomplish designated tasks that would benefit the company, would you not expect the head of the company to supply – all that you would need to accomplish the task?”
“Yes,” I said.
“You see,” he continued, “all such activity given on earth to a child of God is for Kingdom training and not just to complete earthly tasks. All that your Father gives you to do is for a greater purpose. You are in training down here, Anna. Let each person do his or her part. Stay with those tasks given to you and let your Father’s other children do their part.”
“Find out from the Head the part given to you and then allow Christ to do that through you. Stick to the program. Remove the scatter shots from your target. Lean into His needs through you,” he continued.
“Then, you may ‘expect’ with assurance and pray with confidence. Then, also, His will will be done.”
Expectation smiled at me. “Now,” he said, give me a few pictures for my garment and hold them steady.”
He disappeared.
I had never kept a record of the prayers I prayed. But after receiving a visitation from this angel, I began. Now I keep a prayer note book. It is exciting.
